THERE will be an attempt to ring a complicated peal at Holy Cross Church in Crediton on Saturday, March 18, starting at 10am.

If successful the peal should last approximately 3.5 hours.

The method of ringing is Cambridge Surprise Maximus involving all 12 bells with in excess of 5,000 “changes” and the band will comprise five resident members of the Guild of Devonshire Ringers, with the remainder drawn from further afield.

This is the second of the peal attempts for this winter period and represents another chance to hear Holy Cross bells at their best.
