“CAPTAIN”, The New Inn's resident parrot who has been entertaining visitors since 1985 is turning the ripe old age of 41.

To mark the occasion, and following an extensive conversation with Captain, it turns out that she would like: live music, a hog roast, and a beer and cider festival! 

Starting at lunchtime on Friday, June 28, with 16 ales, eight traditional ciders and two farmhouse Perry’s - these will continue into the weekend, for as long as they last!

The Friday evening will see Paul Adams performing from 8pm to get Captain’s birthday party really going.

On the Saturday there will be a hog roast from lunchtime, the Inn being open all day.

The evening’s entertainment will be provided by Crazy Goat.

During both party days there will be a limited menu of homemade chillies and curries.

There are no tickets required, so pop in and wish Captain a Happy Birthday.
