CHILDREN from Crediton and across Devon recently took part in a Christmas card design competition judged by artists from the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts (SWAc).

The winning entries have been made into a digital Christmas card, which can be seen on YouTube by visiting: youtube.com/watch?v=dillJSIlCNo.

Queen Elizabeth’s (QE) Year 7 students also held a carol service on December 19 and Year 9 students were busy in their food tech lessons making shortbread reindeer.

Again at QE, the competition was really strong for this year's Barnfield Library Christmas Tree decorating contest, with both Year 7 and 8 groups making a valiant effort.

QE's Year 7s were declared the winners with their wonderfully decorated tree.

The QE Sixth Form team also made the nine-mile round trip to select and carry back the Sixth Form Christmas Tree!

They made the walk to kick start the Sixth Form's Christmas Charity Appeal for the RNLI in memory of Jack Lees. You can donate by visiting: justgiving.com/page/qe-sixthform-1733089509423.

The whole Ted Wragg Trust family got in the festive spirit, Devon's schools truly embracing the magic of the season, including staff at the trust themselves who recently donned their best festive gear for Christmas Jumper Day.

Moira Marder, CEO of the Ted Wragg Trust said: "As we celebrate the festive season, it's been lovely to see the creativity of our young people shining through in the Christmas card design competition.

"Our students’ dedication to bringing joy to their communities, whether through music, performance, or artwork, truly embodies the values of the Ted Wragg Trust.

"Christmas is a time for unity and kindness and I couldn't be prouder of the way our schools have embraced the season with such enthusiasm and generosity."
