DURING the interval of the recent Trio Goya concert at Crediton Parish Church a presentation was made to Isolde Summers who has retired as chairman of the St Boniface Concert Society after 20 years.
Isolde joined as a committee member in 1981 when her late husband Vivian was asked to be the first chairman of the new society.
Some members of the audience were amongst the original subscribers including Peter Allsop and Piers Howell who made the presentation of an engraved Dartington glass vase and a bouquet to Isolde.
Peter spoke of the vision and quality of the concerts brought to Crediton and responding with her thanks, Isolde mentioned some of the outstanding young artists who had performed there before going on to very distinguished careers.
The St Boniface Concert Society are delighted that Isolde has agreed to be nominated as President Emeritus of the Society.
The members are all extremely grateful for all that Isolde has achieved for the Society and they look forward to her continued support of the Society in the forthcoming seasons.
As a true feast of classical music the evening with Trio Goya made a most suitable celebration of Isolde’s outstanding contribution to Crediton’s musical scene.
