OVERNIGHT on Thursday, February 14, a flock of sheep were attacked by a dog or dogs in a field near Kennerleigh.
Crediton Police Community Support Officer Dave Waring explained: “Sadly this attack resulted in the death of several ewes that were due to lamb.
“This obviously was a distressing event for the owner.”
Mr Waring said: “This is an opportune moment to remind dog walkers of the importance of keeping their dogs on leads and under control when in the vicinity of livestock whilst walking in and around fields.
“Please keep to dedicated paths and walkways and also ensure that all gates and entrances are closed after you have entered and exited the fields.”
If you can help with investigations into the dog attack, please contact PCSO Waring at Crediton Police Station using the 101 number.
