ICY conditions are playing havoc with school bus routes in the Crediton area, while one local school is shut and another opening later.
Cheriton Bishop Community Primary School is closed for today, Thursday, January 9, and North Tawton Community Primary School and Nursery will open from 10.30am this morning.
No other school closures are reported.
Many school buses heading to Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton are operating two hours later than the normal collection time to allow ice on the roads to thaw. These are the CRED003, CRED014, CRED015, CRED016, CRED017 and CRED019. The CRED034 route was abandoned before picking pupils up.
The CRED010, CRED012 and CRED013 services are operating normally and serving all pickup points.
School buses serving Chulmleigh College have not been faring well either. The CHML031 route was abandoned before picking pupils up, and the CHML013 and CHML036 services are not operating.
The CHML008 and CHML013 are not able to serve all stops on their routes, and CHML007 and CHML009 will operate two hours later than the normal collection time.
The CHML028 for Morchard Bishop C of E Primary School and the OKE055 for North Tawton Community Primary School are not operating.
The CRED057 for Bow Primary School is operating at normal times and serving all pick up points.
Further updates as we have them.
