LOOKING forward to the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla, prior to the day some of the children who attend Lapford Youth Club put their ideas into an Art Project depicting the Coronation procession.
This has been displayed in the ARK – a community space in the village.
A card with a picture of the art plus a message to the King and Queen, signed by the children, has been sent to Buckingham Palace.
To say "thank you" to the children, the ARK hosted a hot chocolate and cake evening for them on May 4.
During the evening the children were asked to think about "If I were King or Queen what four things would I like to do?"
Here are some of their thoughts:
Stop World hunger; help people in need; make sure that every single human being has food and water.
Save animals; ban animal abuse. Save the trees.
Create world peace; end war.
Send money to charity and help homeless people.
Clean the world; stop pollution.
Rebecca Holley, from Lapford Youth Club said: "The ills of the world were obviously very much on their minds.
"What a wonderful world we would have if every human being, child, or grown-up, could think these things and work hard to make them happen."
