HAYWARD’S Primary School Summer Fete was a huge success with an excellent turn-out despite the damp weather on the evening of Friday, June 30.

Children took part in a parade wearing masks they had made for the event, which was organised by the Friends of Hayward’s School PTA.

Visitors enjoyed food from the barbecue, and there were lots of stalls providing drinks, sweets and chocolate apples.

Children enjoyed having-a-go at various activities including hook-a-duck, jazzy jars, prize pong and a mediaeval fruit machine.

The fire engine was a huge attraction and children enjoyed sitting inside and also holding the water hose and dressing up as a firefighter.

Musical entertainment by Queen Elizabeth’s School Jazz Band provided a wonderful ambiance. The event was enjoyed by all, despite the weather.
