LONG-TERM contributor in both local and national newspapers, Wyn Saunders has kept many entertained through her published poems, stories and letters.

Wyn turned 90 years young on August 25.

Having been evacuated from London during the war, Wyn and her late husband, Peter, were married in St Matthew’s Church, Surbiton and honeymooned in Devon.

They moved with their four children to Crediton in 1967 where they settled and flourished.

The couple were dedicated members of Crediton Loyal Order of Moose and after it closed, they transferred to the Wheatley St Michael Branch. Wyn worked as an assistant for the infants at Hayward’s Primary School, having previously trained as a child nurse in London.

She received many good wishes on her birthday, including from her four children, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and family and friends.
