CHERITON Fitzpaine Garden Club’s Annual Show was extremely successful, with a hall full of colourful exhibits, a buzzing tea-room and many visitors.
Once again, the Club's Chairman, Andrew Dean was very successful in classes, closely followed by Ann Nixon.
Most points in Floral Art was won Barbara Pratt, the Best in Show going to Dee Marshall.
Charlotte Jakins won the award for the most points as a newcomer and there were several other entries from newer members.
Liz Rose produced the best vegetable (an onion).
In the Children's Section the winner of the Rabbit trophy, given for the best child's entry, was Holly Wortham, who also won the Floral Art Children's class.
The Brownie Cup went to Iona Mather and the People's Choice for the Children's Floral Art was won by Lily-Ann Mackie for her "Rainforest" arrangement.
The prize for the best Hanging Basket - judged during the week before the Show was won by Mr and Mrs. Phillips, and the Tubs and Window Boxes by Mr and Mrs Dean.
The Show Committee: Ann Nixon; Jeannine Rundle and Dee Marshall worked extremely hard both before and during the Show, and many of the members were involved in setting up, providing teas and helping with the marking.
We are very fortunate to have so many members who are actively, and cheerfully, involved. It is a big undertaking.
