MANY members of the Sandford Community took part in the 2024 Village Autumn Tidy Up around the village on Saturday, October 19.

Participants met in Sandford Square at 10am and took gloves, trowels and similar gardening items and equipment.

They soon spread out to various locations, across the village from the top of the village to the bottom, some tidying the shute steam, others on the lane near the playing field, along the church wall, near the Parish Hall and roads and pathways around the village.

All ages took part, from young to more senior, some being lifelong residents of the village and others relative newcomers.

The Tidy Up was organised by Sandford Parish Council in partnership with Sandford Weeders and Gardeners.

The results are clear to see, many wheelbarrow loads of weeds and much more have made a significant difference to sprucing up the village.

Refreshments were provided after the clean had finished.

Residents who were unable to take part are invited to weed the area outside their homes and pick up and dispose of any litter.
