THE St Swithun’s Carol Singing in Sandford and Carols in the Square, raised a record £270, which is to be divided between Hospiscare at Home and Children's Hospice South West.

Malcolm Vallance, Sandford Parish Clerk, thanked residents "for the great turn out for this annual event".

He added: "Our thanks to Ady Nuthall and his band of musicians, and to Jean Hope for co-ordinating the event."
