IF you’ve ever wondered why graves and graveyards look like they do, the next talk for the Crediton Area History and Museum Society (CAHMS) is for you.
Charlotte Coles will be enlightening her audience about, “Tombs, Headstones and Graveyards: Understanding churchyards and burial monuments”.
Charlotte will be telling everyone how to “read” a cemetery, including changing styles, lettering and wording on tombs and headstones - as well as layout of graveyards, types of stone used and the folklore connected to churchyards.
The talk will take place at the Boniface Centre on Monday, November 11 at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm).
Admission: £2 for CAHMS Members and £5 for non-Members. Tea, coffee and biscuits included on admission.
