IMPRESSIVE local trio, “Gioisca”, will present the first St Boniface Concert Society event of the season, in Crediton Parish Church, on Sunday, May 19 at 3pm and it is bound to be a very exciting concert!
The members of Gioisca are the soprano Heloise West, known for her solo work throughout the region, Claude Lamon, head of Trumpet at Exeter College, and the organist David Davies, currently based at Buckfast Abbey.
David Davies says how much the trio is looking forward to playing in Crediton: “We are delighted to be coming to play in Crediton in such a wonderful and historic venue.
“We hope that our programme will have ‘something for everyone’ with its versatility of instrumentation: piano, organ, high trumpet, euphonium and a wonderfully colourful soprano sonority that will explore a wide dynamic range, from the stratosphere of Handel and Scarlatti to the wit of Flanders and Swan and the rich timbre of Gershwin.”
Tickets are priced at £14 for adults and free to full-time students under 30.
They are available from A E Lee Outfitters in Crediton or via: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/saint-boniface-concert-society . There is parking at the rear of the church, and afternoon tea will be available.
St Boniface Concert Society is a local charity dedicated to bringing top-flight musicians to play live in Crediton for the enjoyment of all.
