WEATHER permitting, Car Boot Sales will be returning to Crediton this summer with two events planned.
The first will be held on Sunday, July 31 followed by a second on Sunday, August 21.
The Car Boot Sales will be held on the playing fields opposite Crediton Rugby Club so there is plenty of space, both for sellers and for buyers parking, and no booking is required.
Both events are being run by the club’s U18 Girls as fundraisers for their planned tour at the end of the forthcoming season.
This group of girls had a tour previously booked and paid for which had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, and as this is the last season that this group will be together, the coaching team felt it appropriate to try again and give the squad an enjoyable send off.
A spokesperson for the coaching team said: “It was such a disappointment to have the last tour cancelled, virtually at the last minute, when so much hard work and planning had gone into it.
“The majority of the squad have been together since they played U13 rugby, some four or five years ago, and before the older group move into senior women’s rugby, this will be their last hurrah. We have our fingers crossed that the weather permits us to go ahead.
“As the event will be across the pitches, we are looking for dry ground so that no damage is done so close to the start of the season.”
Hot and cold beverages will be available and bacon rolls will be for sale.
The cost for sellers will be £7, with a £1 charge for buyers who wish to park at the event.
Sellers are welcome to set up from 9am with buyers able to go along from 10am.
The spokesperson finished by adding: “If the weather holds we look forward to seeing a good crowd.
“It’s a long time since there was a Car Boot Sale in Crediton so we are hoping for good numbers to attend.
“We’d like to thank the club for their support, both for the opportunity to do this and for helping promote it.”
