FUN Fitness for the over 50’s, previously known as "Best Foot Forward" has been running since 2011.

The sessions are run by instructor, Steph Heard at the Boniface Centre, in Crediton on Mondays from 2pm to 3.15pm.

The class consists of some gentle seated exercises and some standing movements for those who feel slightly more energetic.

After the class the group all sit for refreshments and have a chat.

It is a social and friendly environment as well as gentle exercises.

The class is suitable for anyone, from past energetic exercisers who wish to take the pace of their activity down a bit, to people who have had recent surgery and want to keep mobile.

Anyone with health, joint or muscular difficulties is also welcome to attend the class, as Steph can advise on specific movements from her vast training, which includes GP referrals and exercises for the older adult.

She is also trained in Pilates and Zumba and some of the movements and music are taken from these genres to add variety to the class.

One class member said: It’s a fun and enjoyable class and I have made some new friends."

"I thoroughly enjoy my Monday class, Steph tailors all the exercises to make them fun and I always feel better after the class and seeing everyone.

"I especially like the exercises to music, it makes me feel like dancing, then the tea and chat is a great round-off of the session."
