FOLLOWING on from the successful sale of the unusual extinct volcano at Posbury, another unusual property has come to the market there.
The 9,000 square feet former convent of Posbury St Francis with 4.5 acres of grounds has been the home of the Franciscan Servants Of Jesus and Mary since the 1940s.
The order of nuns has now diminished and the convent is no longer required so the Trustees are offering it for sale.
The building, which was once part of the Shobrooke Park estate now offers the opportunity for re-development.
Richard Addington, director at Jackson Stops Estate Agents, who is handling the sale, said: “Posbury is in an idyllic location and the sale of the old convent gives a developer the opportunity to create one or a number of country houses in a wonderful rural setting.”
The property is being offered for sale by informal tender (best offers) to be received on October 24.
Offers are expected in excess of £500,000.
