THE Lord Mayor of Exeter, Cllr Peter Holland, a former head teacher at Cheriton Fitzpaine Primary School, had a surprise meeting recently when he was judging trade stands at the Exeter Primestock Show at Exeter Livestock Centre at Matford, Exeter.

The Exeter City Councillor for St Loyes Ward was head teacher at Cheriton Fitzpaine Primary School for a number of years and was delighted to meet up with a former pupil on one of the trade stands at the Livestock Centre.

Mr Holland said: "It was great to meet up with a former pupil, David Yeandle, who now works for Tithebarn, a specialist in livestock feed supplements since 1935.

"David still lives in the village and his own children now attend the village Primary School."
