A LOCAL expert on Folklore, Mark Norman, will be the guest speaker at Bow and District Historical Society’s Social, Supper and AGM at 7pm on Monday, November 27.
His talk will feature interesting and unusual aspects of tradition and custom from the Bow and the Mid Devon area.
Mark is the Recorder of Folklore for the Devonshire Association and the author of "The Folklore of Devon" from University of Exeter Press - the first new study of Devon folklore in half a century.
He is also the curator of The Folklore Library and Archive, a registered charity based in Crediton and home to the Devonshire Folklore Collection; a Council Member of the Folklore Society; and creator and host of The Folklore Podcast.
The event will take place at Bow Village Hall (EX17 6HU) and everyone is invited to attend.
A Supper will be served of a choice of homemade soups and desserts, cheese and biscuits, tea/coffee and even mints!
Remember to take along your own drinks.
There will be a prize draw. It is a “Social” evening, so those attending are invited to attend with friends and partners.
The cost is £10, though attendance at the AGM only is free.
