CREDITON Town Council has said it is very sad that this year’s Garden Competition has been cancelled.

Councillor Liz Brookes-Hocking said she would like to thank all three entries this year, but it was felt that the competition couldn’t go ahead due to a lack of participants.

Crediton Town Council said it puts a huge amount of effort into advertising the event, and added that in previous years the competition had been hugely successful.

Last year, the judging was rounded off with a wonderful presentation evening.

All those who entered were invited to attend the event at Old Landscore School which included wine and nibbles, with winners being presented with cups.

It is hoped that a new Floral Crediton competition can be started next year, newly revived!
