TWO members of the therapy team at Crediton Hospital, Louise Tricker and Linda Ellis, joined members of Crediton and area branch of Devon Senior Voice (DSV) for their February meeting.
Between them, Louise, a physiotherapist and Linda, an occupational therapist, spoke for 45 minutes about the falls prevention service available at the hospital.
This valuable NHS service, not only raises awareness of how to prevent falls, but also offers a course of exercise classes to improve balance and muscle tone.
They also spoke about the many causes of falls and how to prevent them and handed out some very informative leaflets offering general advice and information as well as suggestions for daily exercises.
Chairperson, Carole Towler, thanked them warmly, and they were invited to stay for some light refreshments.
There followed the monthly committee meeting, where it was decided to invite the CEO of Devon Communities Together, Elaine Cook, to our March 13 meeting.
Due to redecoration of the Clifford Gardens residents lounge, thhis meeting will be held in the Annexe, New Valley Practice, Newcombes, from 2pm to 4pm and all are welcome.
The AGM will be on April 10. For any enquires please call Carole Towler, 01392 851600.
