SHOBROOKE Park Gardens are at their best in the spring.
A private garden created in the 1850s, it was after the house at Shobrooke Park was burnt down in 1945 that the garden lay neglected until 1970 when the family started to restore it.

Fifty years on it is a spectacular garden again.
For a modest admission fee, the garden is next open to the public on Saturday, March 23 from 10am to 12.30pm.
Go along and see the magnolias and camellias amid the daffodils.

It is advisable to take boots as it is wet and muddy like everywhere this spring.
Saying that, the garden looks good and should not be missed.
