AN innovative new play about the challenges of living with Multiple Sclerosis is coming to Crediton Arts Centre on Friday, December 13.

Bright Places, written by Rae Mainwaring, is a co-production between Carbon Theatre and Birmingham Rep, and is part way through a national tour.

The three-actor play explores many aspects of living with this debilitating condition, which can strike at any age and affects many people in all communities.

The play is in turns poignant, anarchic, funny, joyous, sad and uplifting, and challenges the preconceptions held in society about what it is like to live a life in its shadow.

“Multiple Sclerosis touches many people in our daily lives” says Arts Centre Manager Jack Robson. “Many of us know someone who has it, and the play is exploring issues which have a great relevance to every community. Hopefully Bright Places will go some way to breaking down barriers and shattering myths about this debilitating condition and promote greater understanding of in an informative, entertaining, joyful and funny way”.
