COURIER readers may have been surprised recently when crossing the churchyard at Crediton Parish Church to be offered Freddos, cupcakes and fruit.

These churchyard “giveaways” are being held to mark the last day of term for children and parents.

Crediton Parish Church volunteers will be there again as the school breaks up for the October half term.

August events include:

• Friday, August 16 – Crediton Heart Summer Arts Concert in Holy Cross church, 5pm to 10pm. 

• Saturday, August 17 – Meat Bingo, Boniface Centre, doors open 6.45pm, eyes down 7.30pm. Tea/coffee and raffle. 

• Friday, August 30 - Going for a Sing, singing songs beginning with the letter ‘K’. Not a choir – just a group of people that enjoy singing together. There are lots of well documented benefits from singing so do go along. Song words and refreshments provided. No charge – just donations invited towards costs.
