North Creedy Choral Society has been singing for 60 years.
It has two concerts a year, one at Christmas and another in the Spring when an orchestra also plays.
North Creedy Choral Society is a friendly and inclusive group and really welcomes new members.
The Society welcomes singers of all ages and abilities who love the standard choral works.
It rehearses on Monday evenings from 7.30pm to 9pm during the Autumn and Spring terms in the Boniface Centre, on the second Monday each month in the Parish Church.
The Society's Christmas Concerts often feature in the first half the work of more recent composers, such as John Rutter’s "Requiem" and Howard Goodall’s "Eternal Light – A Requiem" with piano accompaniment. In the second half, there will be choir carols, seasonal readings, and traditional carols for audience participation.
In April, the Society's Spring Concert usually features one, or sometimes two, complete works from the standard repertoire. More than once in its 50-year history, the Society has performed UK premières!
In recent years members have had fun, not only singing in Latin but also in French, German, and even Catalan.
In the early days of the choir, the choir sang a work in Hebrew. For the 2025 Spring Concert, it will be joined by a large orchestra and soloists for a performance of Handel’s Messiah.
