ELMER Day, the most colourful day of the year will be held at Crediton Library on Saturday, May 27 from 9am to 1pm.
Elmer Day is a celebration of reading.
Crediton Library will have a range of Elmer related colouring sheets and puzzles and the library will be running a colouring competition starting on Elmer Day, continuing throughout the half-term holiday and finishing on Saturday, June 3 at 1pm.
There will be prizes, which have been donated by The Reading Agency, for children five and under and six plus years and an Elmer sticker for everyone.
There will also be an Elmer Bingo Trail until the end of the half-term, which will keep children entertained for a few minutes while they explore the library.
By popular request Crediton Library will also be having a second free guided Coronation Walk on Friday, June 2, which is open to everyone and will take place during the half-term holiday so that some families with schoolchildren may have the opportunity to join in. The walk will last about an hour-and-a-half, with plenty of information stops along the way and is accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Walking guide, Heather Sansom, has researched the royal visits and connections with Crediton during the last 400 years and made a book with 70 photos and snippets of information.
Meet at the St Boniface Statue in Newcombes Meadow Park at 10.30am.
