AN election to choose a new parish councillor is to be held in Sandford.

Two people, Elizabeth Dalton and Seb Pope, are vying for the vacant seat on Sandford Parish Council.

The public will have the chance to choose between them when they go to the polls on Thursday, September 5.

Separately, three people have been automatically appointed to Down St Mary Parish Council. They are Andrew Baker, June Bennett and Jacky Towells.

Five seats were up for grabs, but too few people stood for an election to be triggered – or even to fill all the vacancies.
