TWO Eggesford girls have raised £62 for the Royal British Legion after running a stall outside their home.
Mum Maria Hill, explained: "This week we have been learning at home about VE Day and the sacrifices these wonderful people made.
"We were talking about Captain Tom and his fundraising efforts, then Lianna, aged four, declared ’Mummy I want to raise money for the soldiers on VE Day by making lemonade and lemon cake to sell outside our house’ so that’s exactly what we did.
"Lianna and Laila, aged three, made home-made lemonade and lemon drizzle cake and we set up a stall outside our home.
"The wonderful people of Eggesford came out to support us on their daily exercise (whilst maintaining social distancing).
"I am so proud to say the girls raised £62 which we donated to The Royal British Legion."
