THERE was an Easter feel to the Flower and Homecraft Show which was held at Zeal Monachorum Village Hall on March 16. 

Magnificent daffodils, many scented, fairly glowed in their vases along the tables and Margaret Harris’ trumpet daffodils took the Best in Show award.

She also won the award for Best in the Homecraft section with a jar of raspberry jam. 

Winners in the flower classes were: 1 Sue Down, 2 Margaret Harris, joint 3 Sue Bostock and Judi Hollingsworth. 

Homecraft: 1 Margaret Harris, 2 Sue Hocking, joint 3 Jan Brealy and Helen Hall. 

Despite the wind and rain, there were some magnificent blooms on display.

Erica Eden, Village Hall Committee chairman, praised the standard of entries and said the entries from children had been particularly interesting and artistic.  Funds raised were for the Village Hall.   

Winners in the junior section were: Jack, Reggie, Archie, Naomi, Jocie, Chloe, Bella, Sophie and Amelia.  

Auctioneer for entries not being taken home was Simon Allanson-Bailey.
