CREDITON Garden Club will be holding its annual Plant Sale at Crediton Library from 10am to 12 noon on Saturday, May 4.
A host of plants will be for sale, donations of any plants or any garden related items which could be sold would be welcomed in the morning.
There will be a cake stall (donations also very welcome) and teas, coffees and cakes will be served in the Library.
Last year good homes were found for many plants, garden tools and equipment.
Crediton Garden Club's talks resume in the Library on Tuesday, September 24 with a talk on the Flowers of the Swiss Alps.
The speaker is an expert alpine plant grower.
On Tuesday, October 22 the talk will be by a former designer of a Gertrude Jekyll garden.
The last talk of the year is Plants of the Canary Islands on Tuesday, November 26, by an Exmouth gardener who also runs a nursery selling exotic plants. All talks start at 7pm, with refreshments from 6.45pm.
The April talk by Dr Julian Sutton was an illustrated talk on Hellebores and friends, who gave a review of the different types and the hybrids that have been made available for gardens.
“The friends” were a selection of plants suitable for growing with hellebores to make good garden scene.
Julian and Sarah ran the highly respected nursery Desirable Plants, and although no longer a full on commercial nursery they still propagate top notch plants for the garden and we hope to have them back in 2025.
