CREDITON Area History and Museum Society (CAHMS) recently resumed its weekly sessions at Downes to work on its archive.
It is substantial and, like most historic archives, sorting and fully indexing it is extremely time-consuming work.
While looking through the collection, researchers found the attached family photo and have no idea where it came from and who the people are.
David Nation, chairman, CAHMS, said: “Maybe the image is from just after the Second World War and perhaps parents with two offspring in their National Service uniforms?
“Could the background suggest the Barnfield area?
“I’m fairly sure some of your readers will recognise the family so we’d be very grateful if they could let us know.
“Incidentally, if any of your readers are interested in getting involved in helping us with the archives, they would be most welcome.
“They are welcome to contact me on 01363 774441 if interested in helping.
“Also, please use the same number to get in touch if you know who is in this family photo.”
