AS part of its ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, Taylor Wimpey has made a donation towards the Devon Young Farmers’ Club (YFC) 90th anniversary event in Cheriton Bishop.
The donation went towards the cost of providing afternoon tea for past and current members of the YFC at Wroford Manor.
The Young Farmers’ Club is an organisation that dates back to the 1920’s and was started to give young people in the countryside a way of socialising with other young people in their areas.
The anniversary event, which took place on Saturday, June 25, brought people together to reflect on the impact the YFC has had on their lives as well as discussing the future of the organisation and how it needs to adapt to the current climate.
Devon YFC now has more than 1,800 members, which is their highest figure since 2002.
Commenting on the support they have received from Taylor Wimpey, Rosie Bennett, Chairman of Devon YFC, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation.
“The event was a huge success and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. On behalf of everyone at Devon YFC, I would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Taylor Wimpey.”
Richard Plant, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “We are delighted to be able to support the Devon YFC anniversary event with a donation towards the afternoon tea.
“The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes and being able to work with local businesses and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us. It’s great to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in local communities and we hope everyone enjoyed the event.”
