CHULMLEIGH Community College was recently inspected by Ofsted and is delighted to share the news that the school continues to be rated as Good.
The college received the short inspection by Ofsted on February 21, the first inspection since it was judged Good in February 2015.
The Ofsted report included the comments" “Leaders have focused well on ensuring that teaching across subjects is consistently good or better.
“You have led the school’s approach to providing a broad education for all pupils very strongly. It is clear that pupils benefit from many opportunities to expand and extend their learning.”
Every aspect of the college’s provision was highly praised in the report, particularly the year-on-year improvements in exam results; the excellent standards of conduct around school; the pride pupils take in their achievements and the strong emphasis on performing arts.
Executive Headteacher Mike Johnson said: “We are pleased to have the stamp of approval from Ofsted.
"The report is a good read. I am delighted to work with a school where high standards, high achievement and good behaviour are in our DNA. I congratulate everyone involved in our success.”
He added: “Moving forward I am focussed on what our pupils are achieving now, and the school’s trajectory. My message to Ofsted is thank you for your report, there is more to come from Chulmleigh Community College.”
Steve Baber, the Academy Trust Chair of Directors said: “We celebrate this grading which provides us with confidence that our pupils are receiving an excellent, broad and balanced education.
"The report itself, and indeed the feedback from the inspectors, does highlight the many features of the college which warrant the highest accolade using Ofsted criteria.
"The strengths of the college are well recognised and reported on; including the effectiveness of leadership, the quality of teaching and learning, the breadth of curriculum and educational opportunities for all pupils, the impressive progress, safeguarding is secure and importantly the qualities of pupils.”
“The college will continue to improve, as all schools should, and from this extremely high baseline the future is very positive indeed.”
