VOLUNTEER helpers with Crediton Urban Taskforce [CUT!] had to abandon their attempt to clean up the pavements in Belle Parade on Saturday, May 18, after a torrential downpour over the town resulted in some serious flooding.
[CUT!] member Natalia Letch said: “Thank you for all those who wanted to come to the last [CUT!] event and were interrupted by the memorable rain downpour! What could we do? We totally depend upon the weather. Never mind! Our next event must be successful!
“The next action is planned to clean the area around the War Memorial before the big 80th D-Day Anniversary commemoration.
“Please come and support us on Saturday, June 1.
“We will be there from 3pm to 6pm with tools, bags, gloves and refreshments, (unless another natural disaster strikes).
The Town and Hamlets War Memorial is located off Union Road in Crediton.
