CREDITON Parish Church will showcase different creative talent present within Crediton and the surrounding communities at CreditonArtsAlive on June 24.
The organisers are currently in the process of arranging different acts and performers to take part in the event.
The event will run from about 10am until around 4pm or 5pm but may run longer depending on the number of acts that sign-up. Rev Lewis Eden explained: "The idea is that it will be a bit of a rolling concert in which people can come and go with different acts performing during different performance slots with each performance slot containing similar acts of similar age.
"For example, one slot will be from 10am to 11am which might be for Schools and children under 12 to perform.
"Another slot might be from 3pm to 4.30pm during which all the performers might be musicians and the slot will start with classical music transitioning to folk and finally ending with rock music.
"Another slot in the day might all be drama, comedy or spoken word performances.
"Each performer/act will be given a time slot in which they will perform within (either of 60 or 90 minutes) not an exact time, as I cannot guarantee this.
"This has the additional benefit of performers being able to enjoy other acts before and after they have performed."
Lewis explained that although the audience will be able to come and go during the day, the hope is that they will come to different time slots within the day.
He added: "As we get closer to the day, we shall advertise what each time slot will have, whether it be music, drama, spoken word, school productions, etc. This is so that people can come for the right thing and stay for the whole slot.”
