ON Thursday, January 25, Crediton Town Band presented Crediton Foodbank with a cheque for £252.

Band chairman James Hatchell, presented the cheque to Fiona Cochran, Crediton Foodbank Co-ordinator.

This was part of the collection from the annual Carols in the Square held on Friday, December 22.

The Foodbank fed more than 5,000 people by providing over 2,000 food parcels during the last year.

The food parcels given to clients would make more than 75,000 meals.

The average food parcels costs £50.

Local volunteers gave more than 3,000 hours of time to help their community.
