A spokesman explained: “We will all experience mental health issues at some point in our lives, whether personally or in those close to us.
“It can be a confusing time, when making decisions and understanding what is happening is part of the challenge.
“It is also a time when you can feel very alone in your distress.
“We are fortunate that there are many experienced and caring health workers trained to help.
“Psychological therapies can help treat a number of conditions and we would like to give some more information about these.
“What is the difference between counselling, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and mindfulness? We would like to answer that question and any others you might have.
“Our in-surgery therapists will give presentations to explain their work, and we will run a mindfulness session to introduce this style of therapy.
“Please join us – anyone is welcome.”
If you are interested in attending, please call in to the Chiddenbrook Surgery to collect a free ticket so that the Friends have an idea of numbers. Refreshments will be provided.
