SEVERAL Crediton entrance signs on roads leading into the town appear to have been stolen.

The signs on the A377 east and west of the town and on the A3072 from Bickleigh are all missing.

Crediton Town Council said they have not been removed for maintenance. It has contacted Devon County Council to have new signs installed.

“You may have noticed that the signs at the entrances to the town have gone missing,” a Crediton Town Council spokesperson said.

“These have not been removed for maintenance. Unfortunately, it appears that they have been stolen.

“We have contacted Devon County Council and hope to have them replaced as soon as possible.”

The signs read: “Crediton/ St Boniface 680-754/ twinned with Avranches”.
