EMERGENCY repairs to a series of gas leaks taking place in Park Road, Crediton, are expected to continue until Friday, March 24.

Works began yesterday, Monday, March 20 and engineers have dug holes along a large stretch of Park Road.

This work has resulted in the partial closure of the road to traffic from the A377, sometimes fully closed.

NO LARGE VEHICLES

Unfortunately the diversion route is not suitable for school buses accessing Queen Elizabeth’s School’s Barnfield campus.

Other large vehicles would not be able to pass the roadworks to access the Barnfield area of Crediton.

Cars and some vehicles can gain access and also via Dean Street and Bowden Hill.

Queen Elizabeth’s School yesterday announced that today Tuesday, March 21, all Year 7 and 8 students who travel by bus will need to disembark at Western Road where staff will be available to guide them to the College Cafe.

Once all of the students are assembled, staff then walked them up to the Barnfield campus.

It is following a similar pattern for a return journey so that students can return to Western Road to catch school buses each day.

It is expected that this procedure will now continue for the rest of this week for pupils at the Barnfield campus.

It is believed that nine gas leaks were found in the pipework in Park Road.
