EMERGENCY repairs to a gas leak are taking place in Park Road, Crediton, which has resulted in the closure of the road to traffic from the A377 (Exeter Road).

Unfortunately the diversion route is not suitable for school buses accessing Queen Elizabeth’s School’s Barnfield campus.

Other large vehicles will also find it difficult to access the Barnfield area of Crediton.

Cars and some vehicles can gain access via Dean Street and Bowden Hill.

Queen Elizabeth’s School has announced that tomorrow morning, Tuesday, March 21, all Year 7 and 8 students who travel by bus will need to disembark at Western Road where staff will be available to guide them to the College Cafe.

Once all of the students are assembled, staff will walk them up to the Barnfield campus.

Queen Elizabeth’s School says that it is awaiting an update on how long the works will take to complete and whether this will also impact the afternoon pick-up.

It adds that an update will be provided when this information is available.
