AT the Crediton Parish Church Communion Service on Sunday, September 24, the Rector, Preb Matthew Tregenza, welcomed Duncan Wauchope to the music team at the church.
Duncan has just started studying history as an undergraduate at Exeter University, and takes on a new developmental role as Associate Organist at Holy Cross.
The Rector commented: “We are delighted to welcome Duncan to join the team under Director of Music, Jon Rawles, and look forward to his further developing his musical skills with us while contributing to the important role which music plays in our worship.”
Rev Peter Gilks, as well as being one of the retired clergy at the church, is an accomplished organist.
As he transfers some of that experience to Duncan, Peter looks forward to having a bit more time for other aspects of ministry.
Luke Tayler is a Choral Assistant who often takes solo or conducting roles with Crediton’s highly regarded Parish Church choir.
As well as singing at Sunday Morning services, the choir sings Choral Evensong at 6pm on the first Sunday of each month (October 1 is a special Harvest Evensong) as well as sometimes filling in at a cathedral when its choir is on holiday – most recently at Wells.
For further details about the choir, you can contact Jon Rawles on 07957 789923 or email: [email protected] .
He is keen, in particular, to boost numbers in the junior choir.
