FROM a garden shed in Crediton to four amazing dragons... A magical new tabletop game is set to be a Christmas hit and offers hope to inventors everywhere.

OMSHANTI was invented by Gerry Tomlinson and Amanda Davis after they came across an ingenious "gyroscope" ball that moved as if on ice.

They were so taken with the ball that they built a game around it, which they, and pretty much everyone that played it, loved.

As anyone who has ever had a big idea will know, the hardest thing to do is to get your idea out into the world.

Gerry was so convinced of OMSHANTI’s appeal that he used his savings to make 600 copies of the game.

His hope was that one of these games would find its way to an Omshanti Dragon, who would help him to properly launch the game.

Operating from a shed in his garden in Crediton, he sold the games online on his website.

In November 2022, just as he was down to his last 10 games, Gerry was contacted by not one, but four Omshanti dragons. Four friends who loved the game.

The friends turned out to be the co-owner of a cutting-edge creative media company, a senior executive at one of the world's largest social media companies, a partner at a leading global finance company and the Managing Director of a well-known UK company!

They have all invested in the game and are helping Gerry to launch Omshanti this Christmas.

In the first three weeks since its November launch, the game has already sold more than Gerry managed in the last three years.

Gerry says: “My story shows that you just have to get your idea out there and you never know what will happen.

"I couldn't have imagined working with such an amazing group of people when I set out on this journey and I'm so glad I made those 600 games.

“Hopefully, my story will inspire other inventors to take a risk and see if they can make something happen.”

The game is currently on sale on the website: www.omshantigame.co.uk .

The cost of the game is £39.95 which includes post and packing (Royal Mail Tracked 24).

Last posting day for Christmas is December 20.
