THE people of Crediton are invited to hear how Lions in Callington are helping people in Ukraine by sending much needed supplies.
The Lions of Callington have been sending much needed supplies to Ukraine using a convoy of vehicles every four weeks or so. They are now preparing for their 12th trip, which will leave on May 28.
During the 11 journeys, each of about 10 vans of supplies was collected in the community and transported by volunteer drivers to Warsaw in Poland for onward distribution.
A special meeting is being arranged by Crediton Lions on Tuesday, May 16 at 7.30pm.
This will be held at the Boniface Centre, Church Lane, Crediton, when those attending will be able to hear from the organisers, Andy and Emma Burnard of Callington Lions Club.
They will tell of their experiences and the benefits that Lions are bringing to those affected by the conflict.
Anyone interested or who has any supplies that could be set to Ukraine is invited to attend.
They will be bringing their “Sending love to Ukraine” van.
