REDISCOVERING Britain’s lost rainforests: Crediton award-winning bookshop The Bookery will present an evening with campaigner and "Who Owns England?" author Guy Shrubsole.
Did you know we have rainforests right here in the South West?
Guy is a renowned writer and campaigner who will talk about his book "The Lost Rainforests of Britain".
It is the story of a unique and internationally important habitat that has been so ravaged, most people today don't even realise it exists.
Taking the reader on an awe-inspiring journey through the Atlantic oakwoods and hazelwoods of Scotland and the Lake District, down to the rainforests of Wales, Devon and Cornwall with their lush ferns and beard lichens, this is an extraordinary tale of one person’s quest to find Britain’s lost rainforests, and an inspiring call to action to restore them to how they once were.
The event begins at 7pm on Thursday, May 18 at the new venue of Crediton Congregational Church.
To book tickets, priced at £6 (redeemable against a copy of the book), telephone 01363 774740, or visit: https://thebookery.org.uk/event/guy-shrubsole-rediscovering-britains-lost-rainforests/ .
