ORDAINED into the Church of England Priesthood at Crediton Parish Church on Saturday, September 24, were four Deacons, including Lewis Scott, who has been serving as Assistant Curate in the Crediton, Shobrooke and Sandford with Upton Hellions.

The others who were Ordained were Claire Curtis, serving in the Benefice of Washfield, Stoodleigh, Withleigh, Calverleigh, Oakford, Templeton, Loxhoare, Rackenford and Cruwys Morchard; Eleanor Oelmann, serving in the Benefice of Christow, Ashton, Bradford, Dunchideock, Dunsford and Doddiscombleigh and Marilyn Sanders, serving in the Benefice of Cullompton.

The priests were Ordained by The Bishop of Crediton, the Rt Rev Jackie Searle.

She was supported by The Rev Matthew Tregenza, Team Rector and Rural Dean and Rev Andrew Beane, the Archdeacon of Exeter and clergy from across the area.

Preacher was the Rev Catherine Williams and a reading was given by Mrs Carol Price.

There was applause for the four new Priests from the clergy and congregation following the Ordination.

A service of Holy Communion followed the Ordination Service.
