ON Tuesday, November 6, pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 at Copplestone Primary School laid a wreath at the newly constructed Village War Memorial.

They were accompanied by Nick Pentreath, the local representative of the Royal British Legion who paraded with the classes and played "The Last Post" on the bugle after pupils read out "In Flanders Fields".

Parents and locals from the village met the pupils at the Memorial and observed a two minutes’ silence.

On Friday, November 9, pupils in Reception Class took a walk to the War Memorial and were interested to hear about the men in Copplestone who fought in the wars.

They also laid a wreath, kindly donated by Mr Stuart Penny on behalf of the Parish Council.
