CHERITON Fitzpaine Garden Club is hosting a scarecrow competition in the village. 

The theme is Olympics or Paralympics in any summer or winter event. 

Your scarecrow entry must be outside your address by Friday, August 9 ready for judging over the weekend of August 10 and 11. 

Anyone in the Cheriton Fitzpaine parish can enter for a fee of £1. Entry forms are available from Cheriton Fitzpaine Primary School, the community shop, Thorne’s Farm Shop, the Ring of Bells pub and the Half Moon Inn. 

The winner will be announced at the garden club’s show on Saturday, August 17. 

First prize is the grand sum of £25. 

Those taking part in the competition are invited to post pictures of their scarecrow entries into the Cheriton Fitzpaine Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/159685487406337.
