THE village of Coldridge is set to recognise the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
The event, organised by Coldridge Parish Council and Coldridge Village Hall Social Group, will take place between 7pm and 10pm on Thursday, June 6 at Coldridge Village Hall.
There will be a pasty supper and a licensed bar, and a medley of wartime songs led by Coldridge’s Sunshine Singers.
There will also be a small exhibition of Second World War memorabilia.
The beacon will be lit at 9.15pm in the field behind the hall. It will be lit at the same time as others across the UK and on the continent. The international tribute will then be read.
Donations for the Royal British Legion will be collected at the event.
“We hope you can make it and share this special moment in our nation's history,” a spokesperson said.
