CITIZENS Advice Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon (CA TNMWD) is calling on students to find out more about volunteering for the charity as demand for its vital services remains high.
The charity has launching an appeal for students from all backgrounds to get in touch if they can offer time to help people find a way forward, launched to mark Student Volunteering Week (February 10 to 16).
In January to December 2024 the charity supported 15,646 people in Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon with issues such as paying their energy bills, rising household costs, debt and housing issues.
At Citizens Advice Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon new volunteers could help in offering advice to people in person, online or over the phone.
India Walton-Salmon, Societies and Employability Officer at University of Exeter said: "Our University of Exeter student community already do some incredible volunteering in the community and we're so proud of all their hard work and dedication to help others.
“Volunteering is such a great opportunity to not only give back, but also to gain some invaluable skills and experience which help students become more employable. We really encourage anyone who has the time to volunteer with a worthy cause!"
