CONGRATULATIONS went to all the children who completed the Summer Reading Challenge at Crediton Library and successfully read six books during the summer.
They all won a prize!The children who completed the challenge are asked to drop in to the library, give their name to a member of staff and browse the prizes.
The Summer Reading Challenge is a reading incentive to encourage children to read during the summer holidays.
They received stickers as they read six books, and a medal and a certificate when they completed the challenge.
Each year the Summer Reading Challenge has a new theme.
This year, the Reading Agency teamed up with the Youth Sport Trust to create “Ready, Set, Read!”, a challenge that was all about sports and games.
The six children won the top prizes have already been contacted.
They include Toby, who collected his Bernaville Nurseries hamper, Edie who picked up a £20 Paint Pots of Devon voucher and Katie who received a game donated by Tesco.
Sue Lee, Crediton Library Supervisor, said: “Congratulations to all 199 children who completed the challenge.
“It was great to hear about their favourite books.
“A massive thank you to all who donated prizes.
“This is the first year that we have been able to give everyone who finished the challenge a prize.”
She added: “Many thanks to all the businesses that donated the prizes: Tesco, Morrisons, Bernaville Nurseries, The Bookery, Paint Pots of Devon, Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, Drifters Cafe, Adams Home Hardware, Creedy Kitchen and The Reading Agency.
